Dave,
We have started addressing few of your well founded concerns.

Trying to get MANO WG (workgroup) formed tying to identify MANO Stack issues
for both NB /SB users wrt OPNFV VIM

1. cross-project relations (existing OPNFV Models, Parser, VES, Copper, Domino)
2. upstream NVFVO (Generic) integration common minimum like Interface/APIs/Use
cases to test and verify - OPEN-O, Open Baton, OSM etc.
3. Relation between VNFM (generic) - like Tacker, Juju etc.
4. Cross layer commonality for generic modules for compliance
5. Catalog bindings for Local and Global serving of VNFs (and VSFs as some
call) their on-boarding etc.
6. Your question on Templates which are both TOSA, YANG, Hybrid and standards
as they evolve will also be subject of MANO WG.

I am planning to demonstrate next week MANO meeting some Catalog and
On-boarding possibilities to help arrive at some integration aspects that need
to be fleshed out for OPNFV Eco system to provide Vendors the opportunity to
build on top of generic capabilities.

Thus I believe the concerns will not run away soon, until Markets prefer what
we do in OPNFV, we should be open to all upstream as well to internal projects
that can build & deploy missing pieces in the eco system.

Monday morning 8 AM PDT (15 UTC MANO WG)
Monday morning 9 AM PDT ( 16 UTC) Models)- Cross Project co-ordination with
Model

Wednesday afternoon 1.30 PM PDT (8.30 UTC)
Wednesday evening 5 PM PDT ( 0 UTC Thursday) for cross project co-ordination
other than Mode

Thanks
Prakash

Subject: Re: [opnfv-tech-discuss] [Orchestra] new project proposal

Hi Yuan,

Hasn't OPNFV-OPEN-O changed its name to Opera in its proposal? I'm not
ure why there needs to be a link to a specific project name.

I do have other feedback, though - I would love to know what
relationship, if any, Orchestra intends to have with MANO related
projects which are already in existence: Models, Parser, VES, Copper,
Domino. I have the same questions/concerns about Opera, for that matter.
I see a lot of words present in both architecture diagrams (Message
queue, NS engine/policy engine, analytics engine, generic VNFM) and some
common requirements that are not states (the need for an NSD, VNFFGD,
VNFD) which suggest to me that there is room for creating common
building blocks for these.

Thanks,
Dave.
