On a related note, I just submitted a PR to the ASU repo to make for
a better experience when doing major version upgrades:
    https://github.com/openwrt/asu/pull/1155

The PR does automatic conversion of specific language package names,
which we didn't have a (good) mechanism for previously, so if you had
a translation file for LuCI opkg in 23.05 (say luci-i18n-opkg-ru), then
it generated an error if you tried to run any of the ASU clients to
upgrade to 24.10 (or snapshot).

If anyone knows of other packages that were renamed (currently it just
has LuCI opkg -> package-manager), let me know and I'll add them.

(The existing client-based 'package_changes' mechanism requires exact
package names for the 'from' and 'to', so isn't amenable to the
wildcard-ish nature of the 30+ language packages per LuCI package...)

Eric
