Hi,

We released OpenWrt 24.10.0-rc5 last week. The OpenWrt 24.10 branch looks good so far.

I am planning an OpenWrt 24.10.0-rc6 next weekend and then the final release about 1 week later if nothing big breaks. Feel free to backport stuff if needed.

There are still some regression compared to 23.05.
These are the big regressions affecting multiple people I am aware of.

ath10k: 5 GHz radio not detected:
https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/14541
This affects multiple devices with ath10k radio.

mt7621: Periodic link down+up since 24.10.0-rc*
https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/17351
It looks like there is a regression in the PHY driver for
mt7621. When people deactivate EEE it works more stable.

Ruijie RG-X60 Pro WAN Port Not Working - (Realtek RTL8221B-VB-CG)
https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/17183
The Realtek RTL8221B-VB-CG PHY does not work at all on some
     devices.

6.6: NAT64 and NAT66 performance degradation
https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/15857
NAT64 and NAT66 performance degradation since kernel 6.6

All issues reported for OpenWrt 24.10:
https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues? q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sort%3Aupdated-desc+label%3Arelease%2F24.10

I would like to promote attended sysupgrade more.
I would like to add luci-app-attendedsysupgrade by default into the images to make more people aware of it.
Can we handle the extra load?
What do you think?

I think it still has a problem with 24.10, see:
attended sysupgrade does not show RC5 release:
     https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/issues/17595

Hi,

I tagged v24.10.0-rc6 and started the builds.

Please do only add bugfixes to the 24.10 branch and no big changes from now on. I would like to tag the final version probably next week.

After OpenWrt 24.10.0 is tagged feel free to add more invasive stuff again.

Hauke
