I need to set aside some more time for measuring this performance. My first test shows 180kBytes/s for CFI flash(at91eb40a), which is quite acceptable, but from what I see it might be possible to increase that to 300-400kBytes/s. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence :-)
