Hmm, and the one installed from yum was removed properly? X264 won't actually be used by OM it was just one of the dependencies from the ffmpeg main site so to progress we can remove it for now and recompile.
I've just been going thru the email trace for your issue, at some point was you able to make recording fine or was it always playing back at the wrong speed? If you export the AVI or FLV out and play in say VLC player does it play back normally?
