In fact, the whole CSS reference does not mention lookups (aside from mentioning that JavaFX has a "property lookup" feature, and an indirect mention in the form of "looked-up-color"). There is no mention how property look ups work (and what types it supports), how they should be named (any name is allowed as long as it is not a supported color name), or how they cascade (before this fix, they gave styles a new priority, after this fix, the priority of the style is unchanged).
