Any help highly appreciated. you need to get one - thawte has free ones, or you can buy one from verisign. also check out smime_keys.pl which you can use to setup most stuff for you. -- William Yardley GnuPG public key: http://infinitejazz.net/will/pgp/gpg.asc From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Feb 22 07:46:06 2002 Date: Fri, 22 Feb 2002 10:45:51 -0500 From: Mike Schiraldi <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: S/MIME Howto Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="WfZ7S8PLGjBY9Voh" Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.0i X-Last-Reboot: February 15, 2002 (6 days ago) Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Precedence: bulk Status: RO Content-Length: 950 Lines: 34 --WfZ7S8PLGjBY9Voh Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > Does anyone knows where could I find a s/mime howto? Mike, I have sucessfully setup smime using THAWTE free and VErisign ($14.95) certificates. The problem is different now. I can sign and encrypt messages fine, but only Mutt is able to decrypt. If I open the messages with Outlook, I can see and verify the signed one's fine, but the encrypted ones shows: ,------------------- | |Error Decrypting Message |You cannot read the message. | |-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | |This might be because: | |You may have lost or deleted the Digital ID that the message is encrypted |to. | |You may have installed the Digital ID that the message is encrypted to on |another computer. | |The sender may have meant the message for somebody else. | |You do not have the necessary security package installed on this computer. | `------------------ But I have the certificate installed on the Outlook client. Any suggestions?
