Thanks for yours and other suggestions. It seems like par is for me, in
that it's independent of any editor and thus will let me keep my
present one (mcedit - which does have paragraph formatting, but not quite
usable for this purpose).
Now, I would like to have par executed both upon entering the editor to
make the quotes nice and readable and then afterwards upon leaving the
editor so that quotes manipulated by me as well as my own jottings are
formatted to eye-candy.
Preferably it should be transparent and automatic, i.e. if I use "r",
",a" or "L" par is executed thereupon and once more when leaving the
editor.
Is this possible and if so how would I enter this in the .muttrc?
