I didn't want to introduce it in 3.90. Therefore I haven't committed it
as a compile time option yet.
Depending in the feedback I get I may commit it as a compile time option
in 3.91 to get possibly a more widespread testing base (those which
don't know how to use "patch" but are able to enter
"CONF_DEFS=-DUSE_NON_LINEAR_PSY ./configure").
