I've got the same problem. My app uses about 30 mb after starting the app and
than the RAM rises until about 40 mb and keeps this level of RAM usage. So
everytime I open an other app (like the browser) my app get killed because
of the high ressource usage. My app is not very complex and I dispose
everything as soon as possible, calling the GC in OnDestroy etc., but I
wasn't able to reduce the RAM usage. So my guess was thats a mono for
android issue, too.
For checking the memory usage, I take the DDMS (Sysinfo -> memory usage) or
the task manager.
