Re: [mogtalk2] 1991 +8 imminentHi Derek, Yes, we know Colin and what was formerly his car very well.
Waxoyl works. It's messy, but both my Morgans have lashings of it underneath. There may be more exotic preparations on the market, but I know of none which is more effective, provided it is topped up occasionally to replenish the places where it gets worn off. It is also cheap. And do go and join Richard (aka Lord Unstone, the man who takes "patina" to the extreme) and the Tormoggers for a Noggin. They are a great bunch. Now - go enjoy! You Guy's should be Detectives, you have all identified the car which I think was previously owned by Colin Milligan? Anyway it looked in very good condition and well looked after when I went up to see it, but I was unable to get underneath to have a good look at the chassis or check the front wheels for any play. My Wife drove the car but it then started very heavy rain so although I had been driven a good distance in the car I never got to actually drive it. I know that is not the ideal way to purchase but it just seemed to good to miss! The seller has coated the underneath in black Waxoil but assures me there was no corrosion and I have nothing to fear. The way my Bank is going it will probably be late next week now before the funds have transferred and I can pick up the car. I am still trying to persuade SWMBO that I can keep the Stag as well but think I am fighting a lost cause.
