This imho is an oversimplification.  POD is formally defined in the
perlpodspec document, and implemented by a myriad of parsers.

It may have started this way, but not anymore -- extensions of POD
has been put to use on writing books, slides, etc, which has nothing
to do with the perl interpreter.

Is there anything in POD explicitly forbidden or incompatible with
OODoc?  If such conflicts necessarily exist, I'd be happy to rescind
my disagreement.
