I had this problem when I used kernel 2.4.x but when I
began to use 2.6.x, the problem of getting hang the
computer disappeared. I think it returned, but I am
not sure, when I installed another linux distribution
in another partition. Then, these probems appeared in
the new linux, but also in the older. The old
distribution was Mandrake 10.0 and the new one is
10.1. And the same happens with 10.2. I thought it
could be a hardware problem but in Windows it works
well.
I have not tried another TV application, but I will
try, because I use sometimes xdtv or xawdecode and I
can watch with it the signal from dc10+. Is there
another TV application I could use? I have used
"Linux Video Studio" and happens the same.
