It means data was incompletely delivered by the card. Try recording at
-d2, or try a lower quality (both mentioned in the FAQ btw), to get an
indication of whether this is the problem or not (if it is, ditch your
VIA-based board and get something better... Again, see the FAQ). If not,
I'll gladly help debugging it further. Also, you mentioned some errors
in dmesg output in a reply to Bernhard, but I can't find your mail
anywhere and the context is missing from Bernhard's reply, what are
those errors?
