Hi, I'm trying to get a DC30+ card working with 2.6.9 linux. So far it's going pretty good. I can view video preview with xawtv. I can capture with lavrec. However, the video that is captured is all garbled. It's like the video is broken into 10 (or so) horizontal stripes and each is offset by 30% (just guessing). You can kind of see what the video is supposed to be but it's pretty bad.
I'm not the only one with this problem: I found a usenet post from 2003 with someone else having the exact same problem. Here's what I'm trying: lavrec -f a -i N -d 1 -a 16 -s -l 95 -R l -q 80 z.avi when I playback with lavplay I get lots of: Corrupt JPEG data: 13199 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9 Corrupt JPEG data: 13206 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9.020338 Corrupt JPEG data: 13096 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd9 ... I tried -f A and it fails after a timeout. I assume "N" is the proper -i option for NTSC from S-video? I also tried capturing with xawtv and streamer but both report errors like "no way to get MJPEG" and "setformat ... failed". Since at least I get *something* with lavrec, I'll put my efforts there first.
