I fear that this wont help.

You only nead to install you kernel headers (usually RPM Package) and
download the few hundred kB for the zoran driver and compile that
driver.

Mine does not look that bad.

The bitrate should be the same. I have only tested it with PAL, but I
could use my DVD Player to play back some NTSC Material, to test if it
works. I will do that tomorow. 

Can you test some PAL Video with your DC30 ? You can do a usable format
conversation to PAL form NTSC with the mjpeg tools.

If you see the video in colors and not black white we have a different
problem here. If you use the SVS input and only have B/W you do nor
create real composite.

I don't know what they did. Usually the "big" linux distributions change
their kernel quite much. And so it can happen that the kernel behave
different.

That whould be interresting, to prove if both version do work, or do not
work. I think there was a guy from Australia (not Austria) who is using
the DC30 with NTSC.
