I am using the ALSA drivers that come with the stock
Mandrake 9.1 kernel.  The ALSA driver is 0.9.0 .

yes, it does.  I can restart the recording immediately
afterwards without a reboot.

Actually, it does share the interrupt with my sis900
ethernet driver, but I unloaded it so that the emu10k1
was the only thing on there, just in case it was an
IRQ sharing problem.

ALSA.  Should I perhaps try OSS?

Yes, it is the only thing on the IRQ that is assigned
to it.
