Hello there,

I have been an mjpeg users for a while, have had a few good SVCD
output. Recently, I tried to create DVD video with mjpeg. The process is
like this.

VHS Deck (NTSC) -> DV Deck (DV NTSC) -> Kino (DV NTSC, avi format)

>From this point, I have been about to export directly from Kino to an
mpeg2 format with DVD setting via mjpeg tools. The result mpeg file
looks good and plays good on both my linux and windows boxes.

I then create the DVD volumn using dvdauthors 0.3.1, which I can burn
the DVD-R video fine. The DVD-R plays fine on software player under
windows, unfortunately, I have not got a dvd drive on my linux box yet.

The problem is when I play the DVD disc on my Pioneer dv-355, the video comes
out at wrong speed, noticably a lot faster.... SVCD created using the
same process works fine.

For the resulting mpegs/VOB files, mplayer / xine play them at 29.971
frame / s, but tcprobe (from transcode) reports that they are at 23.976
frame / s.

However, tapping in the enconding process, mpeg2enc gives the stream
with 29.971, which mplex also correctly reports. However, tcprobe
reports outputs of mplex to be 23.976 fps.

Any idea what is going wrong in my process?

Cheers,

Chanop

Platform:
Debian unstable,
mjpeg 1.6.0, also tried with mplex 1.6.1
kino 0.60
