I'd really rather not reduce the resolution.  You lose half of the temporal
information doing that.

Perhaps I could go lower than the default 50%.  I have not really
experimented with what I find acceptable in JPEG quality for direct
storage and watching.  I was so set on convering to MPEG2, in which
case I wanted the source material to be as high quality as possible,
and seeing as the space usage would only be transient, I was not so
concerned about size.

Good to know.

But I refer back to my previous message about how much more CPU
intensive MJPEG seems to be vs. MPEG2.

I got impressions of more success than "not working".  I could be
