Sorry, probably too late now, but I have a modem I know works with 4.3 that I can send you. My other connection was upgraded within days (without warning even though I asked when it would happen) and I didn't get around to testing it with 4.7 stable. I imagine it would give the same transfer error as it did with the newer 4.7 snapshot though.
