The viking looks a bit expensive. Anyone know if you can disable the web server aside from firewalling on the draytek and viking and what os runs what web server, on these. I actually prefer ATM and can't get cable. I did try an adsl2 etec router I had in a draw which runs freebsd with a half-bridge mode option, which worked quite well untill the dhcp server on it died, just after turning off the ppp timeouts via the web interface. I then couldn't believe that even after a master reset wiping all config the dhcp server didn't come back up, which is rather worrying. I was only using it as a stop gap anyway, but still, I do prefer simple and reliable rather than easy. The ueagles been working fine for over a year without being touched, once good cables were used. And at full line speed once [recv|send]space were adjusted. The ueagle modem just said too many nacks and wouldn't work with an adsl2 line so I didn't try it with 4.7 stable or any other os or looked at the ueagle src changelogs yet but I probably will later. Depending on how long my other connection is due to stay at adsl1 for. p.s. Does anyone know why ueagle and atm is disabled by default. Does it have anything to do with increasing the secure at default? KeV
