I have USB ADSL Eagle II based modem to connect to my ISP. As Damien
Bergamini instructed, I recompiled the kernel and added package with
firmware: http://damien.bergamini.free.fr/ueagle/install.html
Now, the system recognizes the modem and it uploads the firmware to it.

It seems, though, that the modem does not "sync": the orange led "sync"
does not blink in the process of firmware upload.
Initial ifconfig entry is this:
ueagle0: flags=800<SIMPLEX> mtu 1500
priority: 0
When I issue the command "ifconfig ueagle0 up", the "sync" led starts to
blink, but shortly thereafter is off again. Ifconfig entry changes:
ueagle0: flags=801<UP,SIMPLEX> mtu 1500
priority: 0
And kernel prints the messages:
ueagle0: timeout waiting for operationnal state
ueagle0: could not boot modem
The pointers as to where to look for the solution are very appreciated.
I am attaching the lengthy dmesg, as would be appropriate with hardware
issues, but I doubt that it is relevant now:
