That is a discussion which has been beaten to death too many times to
matter.  One of the better summaries of the pros and cons of various
posting and followup styles is at <http://www.lemis.com/email.html>, I
would recommend you read that as well as at least RFC1855 which that
document references.

Keeping followups short, to the point and remembering to quote just
enough of the message you are following up to give the reader useful
context is in my opinion /far/ preferable to most other followup styles.
