I have no intention of refueling this debate but I found this an interesting read some time ago: paper by Garfinkel http://skypetips.internetvisitation.org/files/VoIP%20and%20Skype.pdf your link is mostly about Ubuntu users concerned that skype reads /etc/password and greps their .mozilla profiles for proxy settings, which when all is said and done is probably the least of their worries. as for other posts, openwengo does not currently support encryption, and is developed partly by a French company, last I heard French governments were not exactly friendly towards strong crypto. also, wengo do have a vested interest in bashing skype. cheers, mike
