You're mansplaining, Marv, and it's out of context. You asked if not all
revolutionary tendencies saw participation in national struggle as leading to
socialist revolution. I responded that the Mensheviks didn't; Trotsky was
arguing against the Mensheviks when developing his thesis on permanent
revolution. That's the historical context of Trotsky's work on permanent
revolution and one of the differences between it and Lenin's work on the right
of nations to self determination.
I'm sure you know that Trotsky was a Left Menshevik before 1905 and assume that
you don't mean to apply what you wrote about Mensheviks to Trotsky and other
Left Mensheviks.
