If the emergence of a struggle for national self-determination has revolutionary significance, and it does, then like all historically significant moments in the development, maturation, and liquidation (please!) of capitalism, the struggle itself must be rooted in a conflict between the means of productions and the relations of production. I think if you examine the anti-colonial struggles in Spanish America in the 19th century, and in Africa, and Asia, in the 20th you'll find the connection between national liberation, an enfeebled bourgeoisie, and permanent revolution self-evident. Hell, save some time and just read Connolly on the path the struggle for Irish national self-determination must take if it is to be successful. If that connection, that conflict, doesn't exist, then there is no class basis for the struggle and you can't answer the question of which class's program, --i.e. organization of labor i.e. relations of production--are the material, social, basis for demolishing the colonial regime. You wind up with a philosophy of the abstract that capitulates before the world of the concrete.
