Dennis Brasky says:

"The reality is that half of Florida's registered Democrats didn't bother to
vote in 2000 and 12% of them - over 200,000 - voted for Bush."

Sometimes the "lesser evil" today prepares the ground for the greater evil
tomorrow. Bill Clinton's actions while in government had alienated a section
of those who had voted for him, causing some to either abstain from voting or
vote for the Republican candidate in 2000.

Similarly, Obama won by a big margin in 2008, but a lesser margin in 2012. By
2016 the Democrat candidate, Hillary Clinton, lost to Trump. A section of
those who had voted for Obama in 2008 became disillusioned with the Democrats
and voted for Trump in 2016.

There is a need for an alternative to both of the major bourgeois parties.
Otherwise people will swing back and forth between the Democrats and
Republicans.
