There's plenty available from this list on why the Green Party is the way it is.
The only way for any insurgent party movement to emerge in the U.S. is begin winning local victories . . . and to demonstrate that the voters get something out of those local victories. This is why the course of Sawant and Socialist Alternative was so disappointing. This will not happen without organization and engaged adherents. It's a process that could have started years ago, if not decades ago. The GPUS has repeatedly chosen not to do this. The miscellaneous socialist grouplings will not because they are clubs that see all other socialists as members of rival clubs. We are in this situation for 2024 because we have not chosen to be in another situation. The best of our options, particularly in states where the polls will indicate a foregone outcome is to cast your vote singular one-off protest-vote we are permitted to do. A vote for Harris in Illinois will be unnecessary and a vote for Harris in Missouri will be entirely pointless. Use the ballot to make a point where it can be so used. And think about what sort of other decisions we could make between now and 2028 to be in a different condition next time.
