If we are talking about a *company*, then it's of course obvious to have
contact information on the company website - a company without such
information looks "shady", and for example I'll be afraid to buy anything
from such a company.

But there are domains dedicated eg. to specific open-source software,
various activism (or artistic) projects etc. etc., with nothing more than a
bunch of volunteers standing behind such a website. It's hard to expect a
company-style contact information in that case. For activist groups,
putting up such information on a website can even be dangerous to them, as
such groups often have a lot of opponents, many of which won't refrain from
using violence.

There are also private domains (like mine), owned just by individual
persons. A random individual certainly wouldn't want to publish their street
address and phone number on the Internet for everyone.

I think we should avoid "company bias" when thinking about websites, that
is, we shouldn't assume that every website is a company website. Which many
people seem to assume...
