I sent this to the spamassassin mailing list, but as there was discussion back in November about Validity's usefulness on this list am posting it here too. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Validity (return path blocklist) Date: Friday, April 04, 2025 11:22 AEST From: "Simon Wilson via users" <us...@spamassassin.apache.org> Reply-To: "Simon Wilson" <si...@simonandkate.net>
To: us...@spamassassin.apache.org Hi list, I've received an email from validity.com:Reminder – you’re currently receiving the paid edition of Validity’s Zone File Access (at no cost), but as of May 1st, 2025, we will no longer be able to provide this experience for free. If you wish to continue receiving IP Reputation, Validity Blocklist and Validity Certification Allowlist data, you will need to upgrade your account by May 1st, 2025. I assume this is to do with the Validity (used to be return path) dns tests called from 20_dnsbl_tests.cf. I have a (currently) free account at validity.com with my 2 x IPs specified - this was to permit access to what was a rolling 10,000 queries per month. At no stage have I signed up for any paid accounts, or trials of paid services, etc. Am I reading it correct that it appears these lists are going to be commercial only, even for low volume? Have others been getting the same notification? Simon. -- Simon Wilson M: 0400 121 116
