I run my own MTA (Exim) on a VPS. It hosts some Mailing Lists with Mailman3
and can do that much volume sometimes whenever there is a discussion.
My VPS provider noticed this volume and warned me that I was exceeding the
limits, and they suspected that I was a source of spam or something,
I explained myself and answered all their questions clearly and technically
and they lifted the limits. I have DKIM signing and SPF/DMARC DNS records.
The VPS provider is CONTABO, if that matters.

In an Internet failure case, the #1 suspect is a constant: DNS.
"Oh, the cruft.", egrep -v '^$|^.*#' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :-)
