Hi all ,

The erstwhile footballer Pappachan went to the German third division league in
the mid ninenties. The hearsay is that for the first ten minutes , he could not
even see the ball.
Thus the phrase "Indian Footballer in a German League"

Now , i suspect most  people (  me included) in this group are in such a state
on the communism debate and BSD vs GPL debate,.

There is a opinion that FSF is advocating Free Software "Communism"  ( or
marxism , leninism , socialism )  and only a deep analysis will prove that that
it is not the case.

Some believe "Crowd is right" , i think "Crowd will make something right ". So
, it is hard
to change this perception. When we convince ten people about the inner meaning
of GNU
and other stuff , Hundreds are at the gate with other views.

I think discussion about Technical stuff do not produce these kind of
ambiguity. Let us make the mission of  the group as  "ILUG ( Programming /
Systems group ) and we do discuss licensing and social issues as well". ( Now
it is "License to Kill" and the youngsters whom i have interacted do not have a
clue about why this fuss about
freedom , licensing , Stallman ( Slowly and steadly , i feel that he is an
"idiot" who
failed to live a life. ) etc)

The "moral upmanship game " which Stallman "believers" advocate do not have
economic incentives. So , it will become a minority movement which will crib
about
all the evils happening in the software world.

Now, this group has got a social dimension . It helps die hard believers of
stallmanism
( a new meme ! ) to assemble and socialize.

I like this because , it shows the diversity of the world. if some in the group
does not do it , someelse will chip in to the same.

I think we are goin off topic here, but one more question. You say,
communism was not present in USSR. Is there any other country where
communism was practiced or it is still being practiced? Is China a
communist country?

You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your
rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as
they follow the rules: laws and constitution.
