But isn't socialism in USSR established by Communist party? And wikipedia entry for communism says http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communism "...communist theory contends that socialism is just a transitional stage on the way to communism." So in this context, whether they achieved communism or they stopped at socialism matter much? The concern about "a system of central control where all activity was regimented" is still valid. and from the same article "In the twentieth century, revolutions led to openly communist governments taking power in many countries, leading to the creation of states like the Soviet Union, the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Cuba." So I don't think RMS was wrong here. -- പ്രവീണ് അരിമ്പ്രത്തൊടിയില് You have to keep reminding your government that you don't get your rights from them; you give them permission to rule, only so long as they follow the rules: laws and constitution. _______________________________________________ Indian Libre User Group Cochin Mailing List http://www.ilug-cochin.org/mailing-list/ http://mail.ilug-cochin.org/mailman/listinfo/mailinglist_ilug-cochin.org #[email protected]
