Hi All ,

@althaf

I think most vendors offer an alternative , if you ask for. Some vendors give
FreeDOS as the primary OS and some do use Linux distros.

@all
The matter raised by Althaf needs to be looked into. The only problem we face
here is
all are not technical enough to install OS on their machines ( I am sure that
most of
the people in this group are ).

This brings us to the question of "Demand Side Learning". Where-ever , Demand
Side Learning happens, FOSS thrives.

Greetings,
     I would like to hear  your verdict about the practice followed by hardware
vendors who preload a desktop / laptop with an OS that we wouldnt like to use.
Doesn't that violate freedom of choice ? Ideally we end up paying for some
software we wouldn't use. Can't the vendor just ship the hardware / ask the
user the choice of OS ?
Some may argue, that one should avoid buying such a hardware.Well as i
understanf this has similar nature of DRM issue.
Or am i wrong?
