Hi, I get that problem sometimes, too. What I have to do is to navigate to the splitter immediately after the search field and interact with it. Then I press VO-left, where it usually says 0%. Then after pressing VO-right, VO usually freezes so I have to restart it, but then the bookmarks table appears.
Don't ask why it happens in this way. But sometimes the table appears and sometimes it does not. This has been the case since Snow Leopard.
