I did it after some fiddling. 1. In Safari, press cmd-option-b for "all bookmarks", or select that option from the bookmarks menu. 2. Find the larger table; for some reason, history was selected in it for me, but one option below history is bookmarks bar. Activate that one, then move to the next table. 3. In this smaller table are all your files and folders inside the bookmarks bar. Delete will erase them, or you can rename or sort them (note that I did not try either of these two options, I just deleted).
