Yes, Abby Fine Reader is $99. Hmmm, what type of problem were you having with it? I am assuming you already have the correct driver and software installed for your scanner? And you're right, it would be ideal to have access to a program that would allow you to scan, recognize and read all in one. Unfortunately, other than Docuscan, I don't know of any such program just yet. I have been rather impressed with the scan quality of Abby so far though. :-)
