Hi David,

You might consider joining the viphone mailing list if you haven't already done
so. It's another google group with some of the same members and mods as this
group, but it focusses more specifically on the i-devices. This question seems
to come up frequently on the viphone list and there are a lot of iphone,
i-touch and ipad users there. In fact, we just went through another ipad vs
iphone thread and it is clear the preferences vary widely from person to person
and there are many legitimate reasons why some folks prefer the ipad.

In my personal experience, owning both an iphone 4 and a 3g ipad, my iPhone
wins hands-down in over 90 percent of the situations where I could have used
either device.

Also, your subject line specifically mentions 3g/wifi and I personally think
the 3G option is an important differentiator between the ipad 3G and the
i-touch and iphone. The i-touch does not offer 3G natively, and while the
iphone does, the data plans are mandatory, at least here in the US, while the
data plans for the ipad can be stopped and started at will at any time.

HTH,
Bryan
