Thanks, Soren, for your comment on the choppy speech issue being a result of using an optical cable into a surround receiver. That's really disheartening, since connecting just an hdmi cable gives no sound at all. I think I'll call Apple and see if I can speak with somebody, because this problem really cuts down on the usability of the voice over feature. Very disappointing.
