I have a 18 month old MacBook which has the new track pad and I also have a 2 and a half year old iMac and I have experienced the same problem with both machines. was on the Apple site today and was trying to download a manual for the iPod Nano and VoiceOver had a heart attack. Before Safari 5 I was using iChat to chat to friends via Facebook (jabber) and now it won't work, it connects ok but all I see is a series of numbers when someone tries to chat to me. Very frustrating as I have only been a VO user for 2 months as I lost my vision in March. I have been a mac user for 10 years.
Sadly many apps I used to use do not really work with VO such MS Office, MSN Messenger keeps crashing and I am unable to use Logic Pro 9 and Reason. I have emailed the makers of Reason and they tell me they have no plans to add VO support to their products (money down the drain for me then), just hoping Apple add support to Logic. All in all VO is wonderful and very easy to use, its the third party developers that are the problem. I also wish Facebook was easier to use, I am having to switch between Mac and Iphone to use it and VO is not a pleasurable experience on either device. I can't say at this stage if fb is any better on Windows with JAWS. I will be learning JAWS for work soon. On 16 Jun 2010, at 22:00, Olivia Norman wrote: > I wonder the same thing.
