OK, now I am the one who is confused. Other than the changes to Quick Key Navigation, there is little difference in Sonoma, compared to Ventura. I have been using Sonoma since it was released in October, with no issues. I have found Sonoma to be a very stable release. The only thing I can think of, is to make sure that your mouse pointer is set to ignore the VoiceOver cursor. You can do this in VoiceOver Utility > Navigation, and look for the item labeled “Ignores VoiceOver cursor Mouse pointer: pop up button”.

None of the settings in Quicknav in the VO utility seem relevant at all. Single key Quicknav is turned off, and that is causing me to be taken to Recent Items. If I press Vo-Q again, Single Key Quicknav is turned on, and in that case, the keystrokes I described earlier result in the VO message, Same Heading Not Found. I can’t imagine what Apple was trying to accomplish with this change, but I’d really appreciate it if you could give me the steps to make VO function as it did in Ventura.
