The triple side button click did in fact bring up VO. I wish the auto transfer
would have worked for me but it kept hanging up when it came to the Siri setup
screen. It was a long process, but seems to mostly be working.

Hi, I think VO has been able to be activated out of the box since about the 4s.
I just had to replace my 14 pro last weekend and was able to do the entire
setup on my own, including transfering of apps and data by selecting the iCloud
backup to restore from.

The only issue I had was in getting Verizon to activate the new phone but that
was mostly because I didn't have access to the old phone when doing that. As
long as you still have the phone you're transfering from you should be able to
do it quite smoothly.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks. Just want to make sure will the triple click to turn on VO still allow
me to do the auto transfer of apps & data.

I did not call Apple Accessibility for this, but apple care since it’s a brand
spanking new device. I did wonder if the tech rep knew what she was talking
about.

Thanks again.

Hi Eileen, you should be able to triple click the button on the side to turn on
voiceover. The representative you spoke with sounded very clueless. Because as
long as I've been setting up our phones, there's not a step to turn on
voiceover when setting up the new phone.

Hello Everyone,

I just got a new Iphone 15 pro, not in store, but shipped to my home.

I was somehow under the impression I could turn the phone on, and turn voice
over on. I called Apple help to assist in doing the setup and transfer from my
old Iphone 10 to the new phone and was told that Voice Over cannot be turned
on/enabled until the setup is done. Is that in fact correct?

The tech rep did say I could have gone through a step by step setup that then
would have allowed VO to get turned on, however then I could not use the auto
transfer of all my data and apps from the old phone. If that is true then I did
not want to risk losing any of my apps.

Is there any way I can get this process done without having to go into an Apple
store?

Thanks for any guidance and information on what is known about this procedure.

Eileen
