Yeah, flying when the weather is crappy is not particularly pleasant. My
flights last weekend should have been 5 and a half hours including one
lay-over, but the Calgary had a snow storm. I got to have three lay-overs and
over 18 hours instead. Needless to say, I was a little tuckered for my first
day of training.

Oh well, like goes on :).

Hi,

10 degrees. Wow, that's nice. Yeah, we have snow already. Not a huge pile,
but we seldom get large dumps in our area. The snow just starts some time in
October and keeps accumulating until mid April. Not too bad here today. About
-12 this morning although it's only supposed to make it to -8 or so.

Good luck with your Catalina exploits.

Yes my friend!
THat is the best thing to do i guess.
Hope you don’t get lost in the snow up there.
I thought we should get snow now but we got like 10° warm so i am not
optimistic.

Hi,

Yes, there's no reason for a 2015 MBA with 8 GB of RAM to be made a paper
weight of. There's some process that is causing the fans to engage, we just
need to figure out why. Indexing should already be complete, so that's not an
option in my opinion. You've checked Activity Monitor for processes that could
be taxing the system, so that's less likely, but still not out of the picture.
If you have everything backed up, you could do a clean install and run it as a
test computer for a couple of hours without bringing any software or data from
the backup. if the fans continue to be a problem, then we know that it has
nothing to do with your specific installation or data, and more to do with some
sort of glitch with Catalina and your hardware. We can go from there if that
is the case, otherwise, we can restore your MBA from the backup and see if the
problem persists.

Hi,

How much RAM do you have in that MBA? A 2015 model should be fine if it has 8
GB, but a 4 GB one might misbehave a little.

Hi!
I really not sure what is going on with my macbook air 2015.
Catalina made it speed up.
Activity manager told me first that VOiceover was the culprit.
But i have reset pram and smc and now Voiceover is not the culprit.

The activity manager gives no idea on what is going on.
Logging out and waiting for several hours does not help.
Maybe its time to buy a new one.
Or i have to live with it.
