Some other possibilities: 1. Use the reader function of the browser (Safari cmd-shift-R). 2. Turn off JavaScript for the browser (this will be in the developer tools. 3. Increase the memory or decrease the number of windows you have open. 4. Make sure you have enough disk space so that the computer can both swap and rearrange files as necessary. It used to be the rule to have twice as much swap space as you have memory, and to have 10% of disk free. (Though in BSD Unix, that 10% used to be taken care of automatically in the fact that the disk was full when you got to 110% full.
I don’t believe you mentioned any of the specifications of your system. Age, memory size, memory used OS version these can all effect performance.
