Hi,

While I don't wish to minimize anyone's concerns, Face ID even without the eye
contact feature is still very secure. You basically need to be a twin to be
able to fool the system from most things I've heard or read. When the
finger-print sensor was first introduced on the iPhone, there was quite a bit
of noise made about possible security flaws, and now we're touting it as more
secure than Face ID. I'm just not confident in many of these opinions out
there. Joe Public just doesn't have the in-depth data required to do a proper
assessment of its true security risks.

Later...

The thing that makes me sad is that Apple, by all accounts, including theirs,
is abandoning touch ID completely on the phone. The security issue is
specifically if you disable that part of face id that requires you to actually
look at the phone. I think I read that this will be off by default if the
system detects VO is in use. And this means there is less security to the face
id feature than is the case if this setting is left enabled.
