I had tried to reply to this by e-mail. I suspect those replies don't make
it here. My problem was solved when i discovered that my iPhone 7 drew too
much power to be connected to my Mac mini through the USB port on the right
hand side of my USB cabled QWERTY keyboard. Connecting it to one of the
USB ports on the back of my Mac mini restored the kind of connectivity to
which I had been accustomed and all my transfers now work. Sure wish I had
thought of that before upgrading to iOS11 on my phone. the phone is wonky
with VO now.

Incidentally, shouldn't one be able to reply to thread via e-mail instead
of having to log in here?
