I promise you that the iPhone doesn[t show up anywhere.  I hear the beep you 
get when you plug the phone in to charge.  This beep recurs every 15 seconds or 
so.  But the device never appears on screen.  I know this because I can see 
well enough to know.  It’s not on the top of the screen.  It’s not on the left 
side of the screen.  WTF, ladies and gentlemen?
