NOT NECESSARILY, BUT SQUEALING IS NOT A GOOD SIGN. AT THE VERY LEAST, IT IS ANNOYING ESPECIALLY OVER LONG PERIODS OF SCANNING, AND IF YOU ARE LISTENING WHILE YOU SCAN TO RELIEVE THE BORDUM. WORST CASE SENAREO YOUR UNIT IS ON THE WAY OUT. I HAD ONE THAT SQUEELED OFF ANDD ON FOR YEARS. WE STILL HAVE IT AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, IT STILL WORKS, BUT WE WERE MORE THAN READY FOR IT TO GO BYTIME WE STOPPED USING IT.
