Hi,

Heh. Well, that'd get confusing, since we already have VO-Command-F
assigned to frames and so-forth. Since they're actually doing it in a
logical way where keystrokes are concerned, it would be kind of hard
to come up with another one, as the only free ones with the
combination VO-Command are R and Z, apparently. That's what I call
cool. And, it'd probably be even more confusing for existing Mac users
if they suddenly decided to implement "browser mode" so that every
time you typed F for form control, you'd go to a form and have to VO
passed it if you didn't want to enter text into it, but VO-Command-F
would still be frames. That'd make it pretty annoying, in my opinion.
Thus, we have the rotor. Seems pretty fast on my end.

Heck, at least they let us have a way to do this. We also have the
item chooser VO-I. I don't think we're lacking in either fast browsing
or quickly locating what we want, personally. I find it much quicker
on the Mac-side than I do on Windows. That might just be me, though.

Of course, if you have a trackpad, it's even easier. Now, you can make
a gesture as if you're twisting a knob to change the rotor setting.
If you're twisting it clockwise, you're moving to the next item in the
rotor and if you're twisting counter-clockwise, you're going to the
previous item. You can then proceed to flick up or down to move either
to the previous or next item of choice. I hope Magic Mouse is
supporting the VoiceOver gestures, but hopefully that'll happen in
10.6.2. I hear it currently does not, but that's always a solution if
you have Magic Mouse. Or, of course, you could use an iPhone.

Regards,
Nic
