Hi, The apple tv itself has an optical output, but i think you need to purchase 
the cable for it directly from apple. On the other hand, I have an apple tv 
approximately one year old and its choppy both with VO and movies through my 
tv’s speakers. It just started after the last apple tv software update. I’m 
hoping there will be a new update to correct this.
